We can holistically and sustainably impact greater Columbus by inspiring Christians to connect relationally, collaborate for healthier mission, and catalyze innovative work for a changing culture. Our driving passion is to experience a more unified church that follows in the way of Jesus to cultivate a flourishing city.

For Columbus exists to accelerate gospel-saturated connection, collaboration, and catalytic ministry for personal, church, and city renewal.

Our Mission

To unite the Church of Columbus to be for the City of Columbus

Our Vision

HOW WE JOIN TOGETHER

We tell stories across the city, curate valuable data to inform the Church of our city’s realities and highlight partnership opportunities for everyone to get involved.

1. Inspire

We host strategic events that unite leaders for renewal and invite them to greater participation in the Church of Columbus.

2. Unify

We launch, resource, equip, and deploy impact networks across our city that drive gospel saturation, harness existing ministry, and scale impact.

3. Multiply

For Columbus is committed to:

OUR COMMITMENT

SPIRIT OF AGREEMENT

In 2014, God gave a vision of a unified city to over a dozen Columbus pastors from various denominations, networks, and backgrounds. After hundreds of conversations and many edits, we have Columbus’ “Spirit of Agreement,” our theological vision that draws Christ’s Church throughout the city together.

We are a Gospel community that is a visibly united and sustainable outworking of the Holy Spirit. We, as distinctive congregational ministries, specialty ministries, and marketplace ministries, are wholeheartedly dedicated to the transformation of our city. Our commitment lies in sharing and proclaiming Jesus Christ, actively pursuing justice and reconciliation, presenting a faithful public witness, demonstrating biblical generosity, and fostering authentic relationships that transcend cultural boundaries. Together, we strive to create a vibrant community where lives are impacted and our city thrives.

“For Columbus” is not a new idea, but it is God’s idea. In Jeremiah 29:7 God calls His people to “seek the peace of the city,” and many years later, Jesus prays in John 17:21 that we would experience the unity that he himself embodied as one with the Father.

Organizationally, For Columbus is the result of four unique ministries coming together as one — Mission Columbus (est. 2000), For Columbus (est. 2011), Catalyst for Columbus (est. 2014), and Pray for Columbus (est. 2014). We all saw strength in unity, effectiveness in collective impact, and Spiritual power in moving together as a unified city movement.

Today, the For Columbus leaders and staff serve to connect the Church, collaborate for Kingdom impact, and catalyze innovated and unified mission across the city. Want to be a part of this story?
