Dealing with Church Hurt | Joel Wharton, Repurposed Lives Coaching & Consulting
Dealing with Church Hurt
Too real, too deep, too common – How can we be agents of healing in the midst of it all?
Whether dealing with outright spiritual abuse, more general disappointment with spiritual leaders and the institutional church, or disillusionment with Christianity as a whole, it is crucial that we learn to come alongside people who are reckoning with agonizing pain and doubt. How can we acknowledge real wrongs and yet encourage commitment to community? How can we walk alongside someone on the road to deconstruction with grace and truth? How can we minister as agents of healing in such broken spirituality?
Joel Wharton, a former counselor, care pastor, and founder of Repurposed Lives Coaching & Consulting, has seen the gamut. Both in his counseling and pastoral work, and his own life experience, Joel has lived out the pain, doubt, and tension and emerged with a robust, nuanced faith that holds space for struggle. Now living out of state, we are thrilled he was able to join us for this session!
