PRAYER CANOPY

The For Columbus Prayer Canopy is a unified movement across diverse congregations and houses of prayer to saturate our city in 24/7 prayer, worship, and fasting. Hour after hour, Intercessors will lock arms together contending for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done here on earth as it is in heaven. We will together exalt and enjoy Jesus as we build an altar of worship and prayer over our city and lift up the many needs our communities face.

Covering Columbus in 24/7 Prayer

three layers of prayer

CORPORATE "DAY TO PRAY" - Churches are asked to appoint a prayer coordinator to oversee one "day to pray" per month. Churches can also partner to fill the hours together. Click the button to sign up as a church or click here for more details.

FASTING CALENDAR - Individuals sign up for a specific hour to pray with the prayer coordinator at their church or they can make a commitment to fast and pray one day per month. Click the button to sign up as an individual to the fasting calendar. Click here for our practical, biblical fasting PDF.

PUBLIC PRAYER & WORSHIP CALENDAR - Churches & Houses of Prayer post their recurring weekly or monthly public prayer sets for citywide participation. To view the current combined calendar, click here or sign up your hours with the link below.

Step Three: Choose How

You and your prayer coordinator can decide how to fill your hours and how to manage sign ups. Your church can be a host site for the entire watch or you can encourage corporate prayer in groups or individuals in their prayer closets covering one half hour or hour at a time.

Step Two: Choose Your "Day to Pray"

Choose which day of the week and week number you plan to cover each month and sign up here. The commitment is expected to last for one year. For example: First Monday of the month, or Fourth Friday of each month, etc.

Step One: Choose a Prayer Coordinator

Prayerfully discuss a qualified candidate to oversee your participation in the 24/7 canopy with your team. Have your prayer coordinator email Ursula Kemp at ursula@forcolumbus.org to communicate hours covered each month as well as prayer requests and praise reports.

*The For Columbus SignUpGenius account will be made available for coordinators to use if desired to fully automate sign ups and communication.

Email Ursula Kemp, Director of Pray for Columbus to register as a prayer coordinator:

Prayer coordinators will be supported and encouraged with training and a vibrant community of other prayer leaders in the trenches with them. This community will gather quarterly to encourage one another with fellowship and equipping to continue fueling the fire for 24/7 prayer.

With the help of the Pray for Columbus Director, prayer coordinators oversee the "day to pray" prayer commitment for their church. They decide how the signups* and hours will be filled as well as help facilitate communication with participants (monthly prayer guides, answered prayers, prayer requests etc.).
