"Worship must be the heart of the church because Christ is the head of the church." – H.B. Charles Jr.
It’s typical for human networks (or really networks of any kind) to trend toward complexity and specificity over time. We as humans beings do the same- from the womb to the height of our personal faculties in adulthood. If healthy, we develop physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We grow, we mature, and we enact our God-given gifts, within our specific sphere of influence (that’s your small ‘k’ kingdom), in sync with Our Father’s big ‘K’ Kingdom, which
brings Him glory, and brings about great good in His world.
The Creatives for Columbus Network was created to convene, encourage, and equip Creatives around Greater Columbus for good works- particularly those that could only be accomplished together. This network, like every other maturing network, develops, changes, and eventually often gives rise to other related networks. Most recently, a network specifically for worship leaders has (re)launched, offering a dedicated space for those who lead others in worship to
connect, dream, pray, and explore how their shared relational foundation, unique gifts, and calling could afford an opportunity for collaboration that glorified God and lifts our City in worship of Him.
Joshua Miller, who for some time has been deeply integrated in the worship community around Greater Columbus, is stepping in to give leadership to this Kingdom initiative in this launch season. He’s sensed a call to invest in others serving as worship leaders, helping curate a space for gatherings and inspiration that curates true community. We’re seeking to host an initial in-person gathering early in 2026, but also curate a private online Worship Cohort, Columbus, Ohio Facebook group for ongoing communication.
There are so many wonderful signs of the Kingdom springing up around Greater Columbus, and this Worship Leaders Network is no exception. Good things will be birthed from this space. Worship itself, is not solely sung- it’s lived. It’s how we live our daily lives as a poem (Greek: ‘poema’), a song, every line of which ultimately points others the the Creator who created them. Pastor J.D. Greer states that essence of sung worship is ”Awe combined with intimacy”. This is a perfect posture to live our entire lives, in light of the King and His coming Kingdom.
