The Northland Network is a collective of residents in the Northland region of our city, which is roughly bounded by Huntley, Sinclair, E. Cooke and 270 north. This neighborhood is home to a large population of new Americans, including thousands of residents from Somalia, Nepal, and Bhutan. The Northland Network launched in May 2024 and is open to any Christian residing in Northland serving in the workplace, nonprofit, multi-denominational church leadership, or anyone with a vested interest in seeing the Northland region thrive. Pastor Josh Foor of Karl Road Baptist Church is the current convener of the network, which rotates its meeting location as individual members host the gathering.
As with any network, the first and best work is developing a community built on trusting relationships as people come to know one another more fully. As those relationships mature and develop, it’s natural for clarity to increase about how those within the network can collaborate for the good of their community or cause. When the Northland Network convenes, time is spent enjoying good food, hearing from each member about how the Lord is at work in their unique place, engaging in united prayer, and exploring how to advance the Gospel together throughout the Northland region.
Additionally, pastor Josh of Karl Road Baptist also hosts a Prayer Room where members of the community (or beyond) can schedule time to seek the face of Our Father, giving Him thanks and asking Him to move in their lives, family, community, country and world. As Pete Grieg, founder of 24/7 Prayer says, “A prayer room is first and foremost a living room—a place where the Father waits for his children to come and climb into his arms.” A regular community-wide worship night is also hosted at Karl Road Baptist the third Monday of each month at 7pm for all believers across the city. All are welcome!
There is no doubt that the Spirit is on the move across Northland, and the city-at-large. As the people of God lift Jesus high, coming together in His Name, the Lord will draw all people to Himself, causing His ‘new community’ (which is being made for the new heaven and earth) to be living proof to the watching world that Jesus is who He said He is, and did what He said He did!
